We have this product, this model and it is great, it doesn't work on carpet, for that we use a IRobot Roomba, it works great on hardwood floors ceramic tile, kitchen vinyl tile. One thing people have to realize all of these robotic vacuums are not vacuums, they have no suction, they are a robotic sweeper some with brushes that's all. In the case of the Super Maid Vacuum Model RV312 it has a detachable plate that you put a Swiffer type cloth on it and it picks up dust and dirt like a Swiffer. It goes in circles, and random patterns. For us this works great because we have about 2000 sq ft of wood flooring and tile, with rugs. When it hits the edge of the rug it stops and turns around. It's not as advanced as the IRobot Roomba because you can't put virtual walls up to stop it from going into another room. But for 1/3 the cost of a Roomba that does hardwood floors it really isn't that bad. We set it, and the Roomba at the same time and let both go. One cleans the carpets and one cleans the hardwood floors.
